The view from this unit was pretty nice though.you could see a partial view of the Strip but the view was mostly of the north and west sides of Las Vegas. The balcony sort of wraps around the west and north sides of the unit, but it is locked for security reasons. The bedroom was even more amazing with a whirlpool tub with a view out the window. The separate living area has a fireplace, 42" flat panel TV, a couch that has a fold out queen size bed, as well as a desk area with the phone and wired hook-up to the internet - though wifi is in the unit and included in the resort fee. If you wanted pots, pans and additional dishware, you could ask for them from housekeeping. There is also a Fisher Paykel dishwasher, cabinets with storage for a tea kettle, toaster, etc. This place has everything.a half bathroom, kitchenette with stove, a full-size Sub-Zero fridge with freezer and ice maker, a seating area for four, sink, a nice looking hood with fan and lights, a fully stocked mini bar with the usual excessive prices for drinks, snacks and the like. I'm informed at check-in that since I'm an Expedia Gold Plus member (we spend a lot with them over the course of the year at work), I would be getting a free upgrade to their One Bedroom Suite. Check-in was fast and easy on a Friday night. ![]() So.after getting my bags and car, I hop on I-15 and drive to the Palms Place. The rates for the weekend were pretty good to begin with.the only really expensive night was Friday and that was because that was the last day of the Consumer Electronics Show.the rates for Saturday and Sunday nights dipped to under $100 each. I used Expedia to do the booking, and the Palms Place is one of their "VIP Access" properties. I checked out videos on YouTube and was excited because the units looked gorgeous. Palms Place is one of the few "condo-hotels" that are in Las Vegas. I reserved a Studio Suite over at the Palms Place, which is West of Strip next to the Palms Casino. I also went for something bit nicer especially since my employer was paying for half of it. Having stayed both on Strip and Downtown, I figured I would try something different this time around. ![]() I paid a total of $90 for three days - I had a free weekend day coupon but before an additional $12.95 I paid to American Express for Premium Rental coverage. The SUV side wasn't all that exciting either.but since I needed something bigger I took a Buick Enclave, which is a full size crossover. The Executive Selection wasn't all that exciting with the usual Full Size sedans like Nissan Altima's, Chevy Impalas, Hyundai Sonatas, etc. I'm also an Executive Emerald Club member so I get to bypass the counter and go straight to the Executive Selection and pick my own car. The queue for the shuttle to the Rent a Car Center was pretty short too.Īt work, we rent exclusively with National since we get good rates with them. Getting through McCarran and having to wait for bags took the usual half-hour or so. The flight actually got to Vegas an hour earlier than scheduled, which was definitely a bonus! The flight itself was uneventful, but it would be my first time flying into Las Vegas at night, which was a cool experience. Getting through security wasn't too bad since I'd gotten there earlier than I thought I would. Had to work on Friday morning, then head to the airport for a 3:45pm flight from JFK.
